Officials say 166 blazes are active right now — 12 of which sparked yesterday.
Nearly 295,000 hectares have burned so far this year.
As for the Martin Mars bomber, it’s in Sproat Lake, but has yet to be deployed.
It flew a practice missions on Monday, which included three practice water drops.
It’s costing the province $15,000 a day during a one month contract with the Coulson Group to have the Mars on standby.
The province is charged an additional $6000/hour flying time, plus fuel.
Three states of local emergency and seven Evacuation Alerts and Orders remain in effect due to the wildfires.
As of July 16, approximately 96 properties in the province are on Evacuation Order with over 200 homes and an estimated 300 residents of Tsi Del Del (Alexis Creek) First Nation on Evacuation Alert .
Canadian Red Cross volunteers have deployed from Prince George to set up a resiliency centre in support.
375 human-caused fires have occurred so far this year.
