Victoria has been ranked the best place in Canada for women to live in a new study from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.
The index looks at how men and women are faring in five different areas: job security, leadership, health, personal security, and education.
Victoria came out at the top.
It’s mostly because of job security and leadership, but it’s not so much because women are doing better economically, but that men are doing worse.
Vancouver comes in seventh, out of 25 cities, with good marks in health and leadership, but not so good in education.
Aside from Victoria, most of the list toppers were in Quebec, while the study suggests the worst places for women to live in Canada are in Calgary, Edmonton and Kitchener-Waterloo in Ontario.
