Despite the damper weather — Vancouver Canadians fans will have to do without a fireworks display tonight.
BC imposed a nearly province wide ban on campfires and fireworks earlier this month.
But Canadians spokesperson Rob Fai says the team would have postponed the display even without the ban.
“You know it would be really poor form for us to go off with a fireworks show, even if there weren’t regulations, we just look throughout this province, and there is firefighters coming from as far as the Maritimes, it would just be really poor form for us to go ahead and contradict all of the efforts that are taking place.”
Meanwhile — the Honda Celebration of Light is slated to go ahead despite the ban.
The City of Vancouver also permitted a private July 4th fireworks display near Stanley Park.
