Some shoppers at Lougheed Town Centre in Burnaby were forced to wait up to two hours to access their vehicles, as the bomb disposal unit checked out a suspicious bag in a parking lot bush around 5pm.
Staff Sgt. Darren Brown…
“My members attended the scene and noted an object inside a bag wrapped up in a rag. We secured the area; we called our EDU unit which is our bomb disposal unit. They attended the scene, and determined it was a grenade, but it was inert.”
Brown says there was never a threat to public safety.
