Premier Christy Clark, addressing reporters in Pemberton, says the government will do whatever it takes, and spend whatever it takes, to keep the forest fire situation relatively under control.
Clark has been ripped by some on social media, wondering where she has been at late, and questioning why she hasn’t been more visible when much of the province is on fire.
She says she’s been in close contact with her Minister of Forests, Steve Thomson
“Well, I have been working every day. I was on vacation, but I have been working every day, and staying in close contact with Steve, and the Minister of Finance, making sure that we’re doing everything we can to fight these fires.”
As for her role:
“My job is to make sure that they have the resources, and they have the money that they need to be able to do that.’
