Abbotsford Police are seeing success with their annual “Driving Excuses” social media campaign.
Most of the stories seem unbelievable, but Constable Ian MacDonald says that’s exactly why people take notice.
A speeder blaming his hemorrhoids, or even a drunk driver who ditched his car and got into a police cruiser thinking it was a cab.
Annual campaign a success
MacDonald has been sharing real-life comments made to front-line officers busting drunk or speeding drivers.
“Most of these quotes are contained within the police reports.
“Part of the appeal of the driving excuses is that at a certain level they all seem incomprehensible and unbelievable, but they are all true life events.”
