Gregor Robertson is ramping up his support for a living wage.
The Vancouver mayor plans to table a motion to council this week, calling on the city to pay its employees more money.
In a statement, Robertson says housing, transportation and living costs have been rising in the region, while salaries have stagnated.
The living wage required by both wage earnings in a four-person family in Vancouver is $20.68 an hour.
Councillor Geoff Meggs will second this motion. He spoke on Drex Live tonight.
In 2011, New Westminster implemented a living wage for its employees. Drex spoke with Mayor Jonathan Cote today.
