Merritt RCMP say charges are pending after a bus collided with a stationary tow truck Saturday morning.
However, officials are not saying what kind of charges they will be, or who will be facing them.
The accident happened around 10:00 AM, and involved at least 35 people.
Merritt RCMP confirming that the tour guide on the bus and the tow truck operator sustained serious but not life threatening injuries.
The tow truck was in the process of moving another car that had struck a deer.
Most of the passengers on the tour bus suffered minor injuries.
The area is expected to experience road delays until about 8:00 PM Saturday night, and drivers are being asked to stay away as the collision reconstruction team tries to piece together what happened.
Merritt RCMP is also taking the time to remind people of the ‘slow down, move over’ legislation that requires vehicles to slow down to 70 kilometers, and move over when passing emergency vehicles and tow trucks.
Emergency workers had to respond to the scene with 12 ambulances and four helicopters.
A number of the victims were rushed to four hospitals throughout the Interior.
