Let’s wait and see.
That’s the latest word from the BC government on the possibility of calling an inquiry into the 2012 firings of eight Ministry of Health researchers.
Justice Minister Suzanne Anton says they’re looking at ways to release more information on what led to the botched firings.
“There’s some very active thinking going on in that regard, so we’ll wait and see how that turns out.”
The RCMP concluded there was no evidence of wrongdoing by any of the eight health researchers.
Minister of Health Terry Lake has left the door open to an independent inquiry, but says he has to consider cost and privacy concerns first.
“I think the Minister has committed to making sure there is more information out there.”
Since 2012, some researchers have returned to their posts, some are in court with the province, and one took his own life.
