BC’s health minister says he has read the letter written by the fired health workers asking for an inquiry into the scandal.
But Terry Lake is sticking to the party line.
Lake notes his government is trying to find ways to satisfy the workers’ and the public’s desire to know about what happened in the lead up, during, and after the 2012 firings.
But he again says privacy laws make that tough.
Lake says it was a rush to publicize information about civil servants that led to this mess in the first place, and he doesn’t want a repeat.
Yet, he insists is government is trying to release as much information as possible and says is looking at the option of using the Provincial Ombudsperson.
