The Vancouver School Board’s lone Green trustee is once again getting blasted on social meeting for electing an NPA chair.
Critics are accusing Janet Fraser of striking a coalition with the Non-Partisan Association, but in a statement, the lone Green trustee with the influential vote says her ballot was not based on aligning with a party, but rather who would best serve the board.
The board is split between 4 NPA trustees and 4 Vision representatives.
For the second time, Fraser rejected former long-time chair Patti Bacchus, and cast her ballot for an NPA trustee.
Rookie Fraser Ballantyne now fills the role- after Christopher Richardson’s surprise resignation last week.
Richardson would only site “deeply personal reasons” for the departure, but will stay on as a trustee.
