If you’re an SFU student who submitted an assignment after 11:59 p.m. on June 19, you might have your grade withheld.
That’s the latest update in a battle that has spanned more than a year between SFU administration and the teaching support staff union.
Following the expiration of their collective agreement in April 2014, the TSSU commenced bargaining.
After no movement the union voted for job action March 2015.
They cite unresponsiveness and failure to accept any of their proposals put forward as a motivation to escalate strike action.
Demands inculde seniority for sessional instructors, equal benefits for all language instructors and issues around health, safety and payment of wages.
The union says the goal of this latest move in action is to get SFU administration to participate in productive bargaining.
