The newly-elected Doctors of BC President is confident funding for health care will be a key issue in the upcoming federal election.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the parties starting to align their ideology, their principles and their motivations for the federal election around health care again.”
Fresh from defeating an advocate for privatization by more than 500 votes, Doctor Alan Ruddiman says a national strategy is needed to reduce wait times.
“The feds need to be involved in this conversation establishing benchmarks and holding governments –provincial and federal– accountable for the fact that we need to make sure we deliver efficient and effective care in our province and across the country.”
He adds health care is always a priority for most voters in federal and provincial elections.
