Have your neighbours ever called the police because people at your home were making too much noise?
One North Vancouver woman says her neighbour has taken it too far, so she’s filed a lawsuit to stop him.
The North Van single mom says in a notice of civil claim filed in BC Supreme Court that her neighbour has made dozens of unwarranted and unreasonable complaints against her and her children over the past six years.
She says not only have birthday celebrations, Canada Day parties, and family gatherings in the backyard been interrupted by police responding to noise complaints, but even one on one conversations have been reported as too loud.
The woman says her disgruntled neighbour has also positioned a floodlight into her bedroom window, placed sharp spikes along their shared fence, and kicked the family cat.
She says none of the police investigations have led to charges, warnings, or fines.
She says the behaviour constitutes a nuisance- resulting in the loss of enjoyment of her home.
She is seeking an injunction, and suing for damages.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
