A wild awakening for a sleeping neighbourhood just before 1:20am on Saturday morning.
Surrey fire Battalion Chief Steve Zecchel says a home at 148th and 62nd Avenue is completely gutted after a massive fire.
As for the people inside the home…
“Six people there. Two people have gone to hospital just for observation, minor smoke damage or smoke inhalation. But, it was more precautionary than anything.”
Surrey Fire Battalion Chief Brian Carmichael said later this morning that investigators believe the fire may not have been an accident.
“At this time it’s under RCMP investigation and the fire is deemed suspicious.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
