A fire blazing just south of Lytton is still 0% contained.
But, there was some relief Friday as the wind died down and there was some rain.
Fire Information Officer Melissa Klassen says it is still 1500 hectares in size.
“We are anticipating that the hot and dry trend will commence here quite shortly, especially throughout fire centre region even into the Lillooet fire zone. So in the next couple days we are going to be hitting it hard with those resources that are still assigned to the fire.”
Those weather conditions helped the 62 fire fighters on the ground.
“Over the course of the morning and early afternoon, there has been minimal fire growth on the Cisco Wildfire south of Lytton.”
The evacuation orders remain in place at this time.
An investigation into the cause is underway, but it is believed to be human caused.
