We’re learning more about Sunday’s major security breach at the Vancouver airport, but prying simple details out of those responsible for keeping travellers safe remains difficult.
An Air Canada employee was responsible for people arriving on a flight from Beijing not clearing customs at the international terminal.
CKNW has been told that person has been ‘dealt with,’ but airline executives are not saying if that means the employee faced any disciplinary action.
They’ve confirmed 348 passengers were on the plane, yet they’re not saying exactly how many accidentally bypassed customs.
Officials with the Canada Border Services Agency also remain tight-lipped.
They’ve issued an email response stating all 348 passengers were ‘located and accounted for very quickly.’
