Crews fighting a wildfire near Lytton are waiting to see if Friday’s weather helps or hinders their battle.
“Yesterday, they were really challenged with anywhere from 60- to 80-kilometre gusts. We are expecting a cold front to move through the region and with a cold front, there is always the potential for an increase in winds.”
Fire information officer Melissa Klassen says 10 homes are still threatened at the Lytton First Nation, and the evacuation alert remains for people in dozens more homes.
She says 20 crew members worked throughout the night on the blaze that has grown to 1,300 hectares in size.
