“No comment. I feel like Marshawn Lynch right now.”
That was Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop prior to last night’s Game 3 from the Madhouse on Madison, where Tampa Bay managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with a 3-2 win over Chicago to help the Bolts to a 2-1 series lead.
All the talk coming into the game wasn’t so much about if the Lightning could surge ahead in the Stanley Cup Final, but whether or not Bishop would be healthy to go after leaving Game 2 with a mysterious ailment.
But credit Bishop for not getting caught up in the hysterics of goalie drama in a Stanley Cup Final, something Canucks fans may know a thing about. He kept the cards close to the vest and when it came down to business, it was Bishop making 36 saves and giving his team a chance to win.
With Tampa Bay grabbing a lead, now comes the question of what they’ll have to do to stay ahead of the Hawks.
They’ve already done themselves a favour by seizing home ice advantage back, but continuing to avoid any sort of drama from outside the game will go a long way into helping them raise the Stanley Cup.
Bishop says he feels like Marshawn Lynch, but it will hardly matter if he channels his inner Beast Mode on the ice.
