The Canada Border Services Agency says Air Canada could face prosecution, after dozens of international passengers entered the country without clearing customs.
The CBSA says in a statement that it is the responsibility of the airline to ensure all international travelers are directed to customs and immigration.
That didn’t happen on Sunday, when a number of passengers on an international flight from Beijing to Vancouver were misdirected into the domestic terminal.
It says those found responsible could face fines, penalties, and even prosecution.
The airline has also launched an internal investigation.
