A plan to have the temporary zipline in place at Queen Elizabeth Park has been pushed back to the end of the month.
Park Board Chair John Coupar says there’s no firm opening dates yet but says it will be ready for the busy tourist season…
“There was a bit of process in terms of the stamped engineered drawings but these things take a little longer than we expect but we’re confident we will be up and running for the peak summer period and throughout September.”
Coupar says the pricing also hasn’t been nailed down yet, and pricing also still needs to be worked out.
“We’re basically having it installed at no cost to the park board and there’s a revenue share so certainly the object is that people have fun but the proponent has made an investment so there will be a cost to ride it.”
Coupar says the plan is for the zip line to remain open through September.
