Three people are dead and after an accident near Pemberton on Highway 99 north of Mount Currie and 15 km east of the Birkenhead River.
“It was a vehicle that had struck two cyclists and then was involved in a further off road collision. Two cyclists have been killed and one passenger in the vehicle has been killed as well,” said Staff Sergeant Steve Leclair.
“There’s an allegation from witnesses and police on scene that this is an impaired driving collision.”
Police say it is alleged the driver was impaired.
The driver involved has been airlifted to hospital.
Highway 99 is currently closed in both directions north of Pemberton and will be for an extended period of time.
