The CEO of Kinder Morgan Canada is responding to the latest criticism from the City of Vancouver over the Trans Mountain pipeline proposal.
Yesterday, Mayor Gregor Robertson said the project poses a grave danger to the city’s health, economy and environment.
Speaking on to CKNW’s Simi Sara, CEO Ian Anderson says the criticism is expected, and they will look at the city’s reports very closely.
“I don’t think that alarmist statements being made publicly about the pipeline project being a disaster for Vancouver are very helpful. All they do is create more emotion around something that we really need to understand the science and the truth risks and what the mitigated measures need to be.”
As for Mayor Gregor Robertson’s claims the pipeline expansion has no benefits, Anderson says the company plans to spend five point four billion dollars in the region to generate jobs.
