Have you cast a ballot in Metro Vancouver’s transit and transportation plebiscite?
If you haven’t, you are almost out of luck.
It’s too late to mail in your vote, but you can still drop it off at Elections BC, or one of nine designated offices, until 8pm Friday.
Over at the Granville sky train station Thursday night , opinion is split.
Some say yes.
“More investment in transit, and walking, and cycling infrastructure.”
“More public investment when it is time to.”
“more transit, better transit.”
Some say no.
“I don’t like the fact that there are two management salaries being paid, I don’t like the fact that they are promising more busses and a rail line south of the Fraser, but they don’t tell us when.”
Others didn’t vote at all.
“Mixed emotions about it, I do think we need better transit, I don’t think a tax is the way to fund it.”
The latest figures show voter turnout is 44.7 per cent throughout Metro Vancouver.
“Regardless of any of the politics behind it, it’s important that we get better transportation.”
“I was the transportation system to work.”
“Because we need better infrastructure.”
