It was a busy night for Vancouver firefighters.
Shortly after 3am, they responded to a fire in an abandoned home in the 3200-block of East 54th Avenue, near McKinnon Street.
Flames were shooting 20-feet in the air when they arrived.
No one was hurt.
And at its height, a 3-alarm fire in a mattress-recyclcing facility on Sherbrooke near Marine Drive in South Vancouver drew 50 firefighters to the scene.
It started at 6:30pm and crews will be there through the morning, dousing hotspots.
Vancouver Fire Deputy Chief Brian Godlonson says no one had to be evacuated.
“Primarily this is in an industrial district, and there is no residence or occupants that had to be evacuated from their homes.”
There are no known injuries.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
