The number one movie at the box office this past weekend was yet another one filmed mostly in BC.
“You wanted to see Tomorrowland, here it comes….”
Although the latest Disney flick starring George Clooney was expected to make more than $32 million it’s opening weekend, Creative BC President Richard Brownsey says the fact it was number one is still good news.
“Whether the movie is a smash hit or not, and I think it will do very well. I think it will take time to build, but I think you can see the quality of the work that went into the film onscreen.”
Several locally-shot films to top more than half a billion dollars at the box office include the latest Superman and Mission Impossible, as well as Twilight and most recently Fifty Shades of Grey.
