The man who pleaded guilty on Friday to killing Surrey hockey mom Julie Paskall has been sentenced to 12 years behind bars.
Yosef Gopaul pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in death: manslaughter and robbery.
Just a few days after Christmas in 2013, he attacked Paskall as she waited outside the Newton Arena to pick up her son.
The 53-year-old died in hospital a few days later.
Her killing prompted an outcry from the community about fears for public safety.
The court heard Gopaul had been wandering around Newton for hours, looking for someone to attack with a two-pound rock in his pocket.
He picked Paskall because of her short stature. She was 4’9″.
