The date hasn’t even been set for the upcoming federal election, but some serious mud-slinging has begun in Metro Vancouver.
National Revenue Minister Kerry-Lynne Findlay used a crime-reduction announcement in Surrey to accuse the New Democrats of protecting pedophiles.
“The federal NDP has repeatedly voted against measures introduced by our Conservative government to strengthen and protect our communities, such as, ending criminal record suspensions for child molesters.”
Jasbir Sandhu, the New Democrat MP for Surrey-North, says voters are too smart to fall for Conservative lies.
“I have an eight year old son and and 18-year old daughter and for them to suggest that I, somehow, would stand with the pedophiles, that’s shameless. That has no place in any community.”
Similar tactics have been used against opponents of Bill C-51 anti-terrorism legislation.
