It’s a banner year for development in Vancouver.
And that includes fixing things like roads and sewers.
According to Engineering Co-ordinator Joe Walls, there’s a lot of work ahead.
“Unfortunately the easy stuff is out of the way, and now we’re onto the big corridors.”
It’s not all bad news though.
General Manager of Engineering Jerry Dobrovolny says even though major routes will see closures, they’re staggering it to ease congestion.
“We’ve co-ordinated the work so we don’t have major arterials that are both running in the same direction under construction at the same activities.”
He recommends commuters give themselves more time, listen to traffic reports, and check the city’s roadwork website ‘Road Ahead dot C-A’ to get up-to-date information.
