Vancouver Police say they’re currently keeping tabs on roughly 45 high risk sex offenders living in the city.
Constable Brian Montague says one of them hasn’t returned to his halfway house.
That’s something that happens quite often.
This time, it’s 48-year-old Timothy Daniel Jones, a two-time federal offender on statutory release with prior convictions for sexual assault.
“We have a high risk offenders unit that is responsible for monitoring offenders that are living in Vancouver. Currently they are monitoring about 45 individuals… I believe all of them right now are sex offenders so it’s a challenge of course to be able to monitor that large number of people.”
Jones is considered a high-risk to re-offend.
