Cruise passengers heading to the U.S. from Vancouver can now use passport control kiosks at Canada Place.
The machines are the same as ones used in airports in order to get through customers faster.
Port Metro Vancouver’s Peter Xotta says the kiosks don’t replace border agents, and won’t affect security.
“This is just making sure that from a passenger perspective, they can see and experience something that is consistent with a quality holiday experience with no compromise of their security as they’re going forward.”
The busy port can see up to 10,000 passengers a day.
