BC’s Premier is still pushing Liquefied Natural Gas as a ‘clean’ industry
“We’re committed to having the cleanest LNG anywhere in the world.”
Speaking at an event in Burnaby updating the province’s climate action plan, Christy Clark says exporting LNG will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“In making it available to places like China is going to mean that, as a transitional fuel, cause it’s so much cleaner than the traditional ones –coal and other kinds of fuel– it will allow China to be able to move off some of those much dirtier sources of energy.”
Clark adds progress has already been made since 2008 when British Columbians started paying the carbon tax.
