Police have now confirmed more details about Thursday night’s murder-suicide near Chilliwack.
“We’re awaiting the results of the coroner’s report to determine, formally, who the individuals are that were in the residence.”
It’s believed the three bodies found at a burned out house in Rosedale are Randy Janzen, his wife Laurel and their 19-year old daughter Emily, but RCMP Sgt. Stephanie Ashton says the timeline of their deaths must still be confirmed by the coroner and more details are needed from family and friends.
“We are asking that anyone who interacted with the Janzen family in the three weeks prior to May 7th, so mid-April to May 7th, 2015, we’d like to hear from them to hear what kind of interaction they had with the family.”
Ashton adds the events line up with what was stated in a Facebook posting allegedly written by Randy Janzen.
She adds he was not well-known to police.
“There was minimal contact with police and that family.”
In it, he describes shooting his daughter because she suffers from debilitating migraines.
He also confessed to killing his wife Laurel and sister Shelly.
“With the condition of the bodies, we have to await the coroner’s report in order to determine positively the identity of the individuals.”
Her body was found at her Aldergrove home.
