Fed up with the deafening roar of exhaust pipes?
Help may be on the way.
Vancouver-West End NDP MLA Spencer Chandra-Herbert says the Transportation Minister has struck a committee and the public will be asked for feedback on what’s acceptable when it comes to loud vehicles.
He says it’s a big issue living in the West End.
“The sound of noisy motorbikes and loud vehicles echo through the buildings and my phone lights up with folks wondering how the heck we can address the problem.”
Chandra-Herbert says he’s also getting complaints from the Okanagan and Vancouver Island where he says more and more drivers are modifying their vehicles to make them loud.
He says a hand-held devise to measure vehicle noise is already in use in many parts of the world.
