Another day, another shooting in Surrey.
But police say this one doesn’t look like it is linked to a turf war over the drug trade.
RCMP Sgt. Dale Carr says the shooting just before 6 am at a home on 128th Street and 104 Avenue involved three people, very well known to them.
One man in his 20’s was found shot nearby, and was taken to hospital.
“Another male and a female arrived of their own accord at hospital. The male suffering from a gunshot injury. The female had an injury, but I don’t think it was related to a gunshot.”
Carr says none of the injuries in this targeted attack are life-threatening.
He knows people in Surrey are concerned, and they should be.
But he tries to give reassurance, saying these are criminals that are shooting at each other.
Neighbours fed up
One neighbourhood resident is wondering why his city is becoming like a war zone.
Tyler Dalling lives near the home where the shooting allegedly took place.
“We’ve got kids out here playing and stuff like that and Surrey has become an unsafe environment for children, teenagers, kids going to school, it’s not safe anymore and we’re wondering why.”
There was another incident in another residential area at 124th Street and 68th Avenue yesterday morning, where people in one vehicle were shooting at people in another.
