An adult man is dead, after an Ultralight plane crashed just off highway 99 and King George around 3pm.
Surrey RCMP’s Sgt. Dale Carr says nobody else was involved.
“We’ve got one occupant, we don’t expect there was any other occupants. We’re speaking to eyewitnesses of the crash and we have a pretty good idea of what went on.”
BC Ambulance says it received the call at 3:11pm.
It sent one air ambulance and four ground ambulances.
Paramedics remain on the scene, although no one was transported to hospital.
The Transportation Safety Board says the plane is an Ultralight Kitfox.
The employee who answered the phone at the King George Airpark confirms he knows the pilot, and will issue a statement shortly.
The BC Coroner’s Service says it is taking over the investigation.
