The tip line set up in Surrey to take calls on the recent spate of shootings has received over a hundred calls.
Councillor Bruce Hayne says council was told this morning by Officer in Charge Bill Fordy, many of the calls are proving to be valuable.
Hayne says the biggest concern is an innocent bystander could be hit by gunfire if the violence keeps up….
“Fortunately you know we’ve all been very lucky this far but this level of violence can not continue unbated and with any hope of not having sort of collateral damage and that’s really the scariest thing for all of us.”
Meanwhile Hayne says the city has hired a recruitment agency to look for applicants for the new position of “community safety officer.”
