It’s another broken promise by the Liberal government, at least that’s the NDP’s take on the Little Mountain Housing Development in Vancouver.
New Democrat MLA George Heyman says the government trumpeted the opening 53 seniors units at the newly developed project–but points out the government promised 234 units that were supposed to be built by 2010.
“Only that side of the house could be five years late, deliver just 20 per-cent of their promise, and then brag about it.”
Housing minister Rich Coleman admits there’s been a bit of a delay in meeting the promise.
“Everybody that was on Little Mountain was housed, everyone has been supported in the marketplace since, they have the right to come back when the project is complete if they wish to.”
The government used 300 million from the sale of Little Mountain to fund housing projects around BC.
