“You can look at it from the point of view as your school just won a sports game.”
On the heels of the release of the Fraser Institute’s annual report of top elementary schools, BC’s Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils says the list is a far cry from being fair.
John Puddifoot with BC’s CPAC says people shouldn’t hold these assessments in high regard.
He’s shocked people still bother with the list because there are more comprehensive measurements available.
“The ministry has put together a site: “Discover Your School.” And it gives you much more information than just the Fraser Institute rankings.”
Puddifoot says the list is based on the results of the Foundation Skills assessment.
That test is given yearly to students in grades four and seven throughout BC.
