British Columbians aren’t just making private donations to help the people of Nepal after last week’s devastating earthquake.
The provincial government is donating three hundred thousand dollars to the Canadian Red Cross and shoppers at government liquor stores are being encouraged to make cash donations until June 6th.
The money is expected to provide support for the worst-hit areas.
The three-month waiting period to access benefits under the Medical Services Plan has also been waived for British Columbians coming home from Nepal.
