A Tuesday afternoon assault in West Vancouver has turned into an attempted murder investigation.
Police were called to an apartment in the 2000-black of Bellevue Avenue and arrived to find an assault in progress.
The victim had escaped with the help of a friend, and was brought to the police station with extensive bruising and abrasion injuries.
Officers arrested the 16-year-old boy, but after further investigation, they found evidence that suggested an attempt to murder the victim.
He’s now being held a youth detention centre in Burnaby where he will undergo a psychiatric assessment before his court appearance on Friday.
Police say the two are immediate family members, but won’t release any names.
