The federal agency that regulates pipelines in Canada has launched public consultations with hopes of improving transparency.
NEB chair Peter Watson made the announcement while speaking at a board of trade luncheon in Vancouver on Monday.
Anyone with concerns about the NEB’s role in emergency management has until June 25 to make submissions.
He also promised to extend the 15-month review process for Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline expansion proposal, if he thinks it’s necessary.
Watson also says he’s well aware that public confidence in the NEB has been called into question in the wake of the recent oil spill in English Bay.
