Technology that allows you to access your content across different mediums is nothing new, but BitLit is taking a bold new approach to cross-platform apps, by blending digital possessions with material ones.
To access the free eBooks on your phone, you just take a “shelfie” of your book shelf, and BitLit finds the books you own in its library. Users of the app have to “write” their names in the book to prove ownership, and so they can’t access the book again. The library of books is stocked full of classics to newer titles, in almost all genres.
The creator of the app, Peter Hudson, joins CKNW’s Sean Leslie to discuss BitLit.
BitLit has been in development for the better part of 2014 and 2015.
