The people that sell liquor in this province and the one over the mountains are pretty stoked the Vancouver Canucks forced a Game 6 tomorrow night.
Not that anyone in either province needs an excuse on a weekend, but a Western Canadian Darby in the playoffs will make it an extra sudsy Saturday night.
Despites being down 3-2 in the series, the Canucks should be feeling good about the showdown in Cowtown.
Vancouver did win in the Saddledome to open the regular season.
I think all involved will agree the Canucks looked dreadful in games three and four. Yet here they are, with a chance to right those wrongs in game six.
A quick reminder, the ‘Nucks were the fifth best road team in the NHL, with 24 wins away from Vancity.
They had one, four-game losing streak away from here in December. Other than that Willie D’s crew only dropped two in a row while wearing white uniforms on two other occasions this season.
Goalie Ryan Miller is coming into the game with confidence; he has a win at the Saddledome this season and was perfect over two periods in game four making 15 saves.
The chaps that were in on the goals last night, Daniel, Henrik, Vrbata and Bonino were the clubs top scorers in other NHL cities over the last half a year.
The X factor is waiting in Calgary. The ‘Nucks can rally around the man they call Burr, as they try and win one for number 14 and his displaced rib.
Oh and there is the Flames Mikael Backlund who said last night, “They (as in the Canucks) didn’t have much in our building. There’s no way were losing at home.”
Put that on the bulletin board along with the other things that have been mentioned and you might have to stock up on supplies for Monday night’s game seven.
