Fifty RCMP officers will conduct a fresh search for a young woman in the Comox Valley who has been seen for the past year and a half.
Julia Strobach, then 27, was last seen on Halloween night in 2013.
As a result of information collected in the investigation, police say they will search two specific locations in Courtenay on Tuesday, the 4600-block of Headquarters Road, and the 1000-block of Ryan Road.
RCMP Cpl. Darren Lagan says investigators still can’t rule foul play in or out in her disappearance, or say if she is alive or dead.
“We’ve spoken to everybody who has had a key part in Julia’s life. That includes friends, acquaintances, partners along the way. We don’t have any suspects per se because we’re at point still where we are trying to figure out what happened to Julie.”
He says police want to solve this mystery to give answers to her family in Germany and her now-three-year-old son.
