Authorities say Tuesday’s fire in Chinatown was sparked accidentally as crews were putting in a new roof.
The Daisy Garden Restaurant, on East Pender Street near Main Street, was reported just after noon.
The roof partially collapsed as 60 firefighters were trying to douse the flames.
Authorities decided to demolish the building after the the three-alarm blaze tore through.
No one was hurt, and buildings on either side had only limited damage.
