The recent gun violence in Surrey has a community on edge.
Officials are hoping to listen and respond to those concerns at a public forum tonight.
It’s bound to draw large crowds of residents eager to learn more about the investigations into nearly two dozen acts of gun violence in just over a month in Surrey and Delta.
Some will likely question what the police are doing about it, and if more resources are necessary.
The turf war came to a head on Sunday, when 22 year old Arun Baines, the nephew of local MLA Harry Bains, was shot and killed.
RCMP created a tip-line and is appealing to families to get both suspects and victims to speak out.
The community forum will be held at Tamanawis Secondary School at 7pm.
Officials with the city, school district, RCMP and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit will be there.
