The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has released the name of the man whose body was found in Burnaby on Thursday morning.
33 year old Elmer Libertino was found in the area of Moscrop Street and Smith Avenue.
Sergeant Stephanie Ashton with IHIT says Libertino’s family both locally – and overseas – is reeling from the news.
She says no tip is too small.
“We know that he traveled by transit, that he made his way into the area near Moscrop and Smith at around 2:15 in the morning is when he should have arrived. And we’re hoping somebody saw him along the way.”
He’s believed to have been in Burnaby’s Kingsway and Boundary area just hours before he died.
I-HIT believes there are a number of people who were on foot in the area and might have seen him the night before he died.
Anyone with any information is asked to call I-HIT at 1-877-551-IHIT, or they can e-mail tips to firstname.lastname@example.org.
