A major liquefied natural gas project is moving ahead in B.C.
The National Energy Board has approved the North Montney Mainline Project in the Peace River region. The facility still needs to be approved by the federal government.
It would see a new facility built and connect to the Nova Gas transmission line, which connects to the Prince Rupert gas transmission line.
All that will link to Pacific NorthWest LNG’s export terminal on the coast.
The head of Pacific Northwest LNG says the approval is vital to encouraging investment from Petronas, its parent company, and others.
