The NDP says British Columbians got burned in a huge land sale in Coquitlam.
Opposition leader John Horgan has obtained a government appraisal of the Burke Mountain lands at 128 million dollars.
But the package was sold to Wesbild Holdings for only 85 million dollars.
“If I had something that was worth a whole lot of money, I certainly would not sell it for 33 per-cent less its value, particularly when it wasn’t mine, it was the people of British Columbia’s.”
While there were several bids on the property, Horgan says the government rushed the deal in order to balance the budget and could have received a higher offer if it had left it on the market for a longer period.
